Whale of a Tale

"Apparently there is a whale swimming around in False Creek"

I saw this on twitter and panicked. I couldn't get pants on fast enough. I knew my phone wasn't charged enough. But I grabbed both and my camera and RAN (almost the whole way) to the Granville Street Bridge.

I looked around when I got about halfway across the bridge, spotted the police boat and coast guard near the familiar yellow of the False Creek Tugboats and waited.
Then I saw this:
and then this:
and then THIS:
I was shaking so hard and almost crying...which might have been because of the massive wind gusts blowing freezing cold air on me on the bridge, or because life goals were being fulfilled.
I stood on that bridge for over 2 hours...most of which was spent waiting for it to come back towards me after swimming too far east. But I saw it again:

So cool. I love my city.
