Earth Hour!

The genius that is myself decided it was a smart idea to wait until 8pm on earth hour to start cooking dinner. It wasn't the easiest, and now I have candle wax on my stove. But really, that is the time of the evening where I would have been using most of the lights in our apartment, so I guess it made a difference!
I took a few photos... there wasn't TOO much of a difference out our window, but top prize goes to (MY BANK) CIBC for most lights out of all the skyscrapers.

Updating Fiend!

I'm an updating fiend. And a backing-up fiend...which doesn't sound as good. I've literally spent the last two days burning DVD's and backing up all of my photography, which A: isn't an easy feat, B: takes a lot more time than expected and 3: requires a lot of DVD's.

Seriously, if you want record-able dvd's, they're on sale at Best Buy for $29.99 for 100...
I'm actually going to get another tower of them...for Bonnie & Clyde's future endeavors!

Once I finished all the back ups, I decided to finally update my website, published work wise. I kept my old favourites and added new new favourites, like my cover!

As well as updating the main homepage with this photo of my beautiful friend Dawn and her newfew:
And as much as I love Dawn, my favourite part is still the kid sitting in the box with the party hat on.

Back to Back Champs

A few days ago my friend Austin and the rest of his team were in the finals in their hockey league. I had only made it out to the season opener this year, and the finals from last year, so it was fitting that I'd actually go out.

They ended up winning the game after a crazy shoot out, with Austin saving the day in net.

Here are some of the photos of the guys (mostly Austin) and a cameo by both roommates (Jon was also taking photos, and has a sick(sic) one of one of the players being...sick... in the trashcan while Austin makes the game saving goal).

Utah?!

So I have my first assignment for VFM in the works, and it looks like I'll be shipped off to Salt Lake City (April 11-18)! I'm going through waves of excitement and waves of panic about getting packed and getting things sold before then.

It should be an interesting experience...and I need to research some other things to do while I'm there! I haven't been that far west in the U.S. before, and it looks like the weather is going to be awesome.

I do know that I will come back with a lot of interesting photos.

I give them an A+++(+)...

It's only 43 more days until we move out of what has been our home for the last year and eight months. Guaranteed I'll cry.

Since move out day is on its way, we had to massively clean the suite so they could show potential renters. It looks awesome now.

I did two different shoots for Toronto Life this week, one involving a lot of bars on College St. (including Eat My Martini, which Sas, I thought you'd enjoy) and the second (as mentioned below) was the "It Spot" for May. The owners of the bar were so awesome, and lucky for Jon, who was great and brought me my tripod, he was taught how to sample vodka on its own (with bread sniffing and pickle eating), and we enjoyed delicious martinis afterwards.

With all the crazy that has happened I finally (today) got around to fixing up and putting together the Said The Whale site...from their CMW/Chart Showcase show on the 8th of March.
So here it is:

I'm in Biznas!

It's been quite a busy week. Said The Whale came back to town again and crashed at our apartment... I really do love it, though the peace and quiet now is wonderful!

I have lots of photos that I'm still going through and will pick and choose the best to put together a la Hey Ocean site that I did... but TONIGHT I am on assignment for Toronto Life, photographing this month's "It Spot" woo!

In other news it was 10 degrees today and I was super excited until I picked up my parents from the airport and they and (my almost 16 year old!) brother and they were so TAN! Jealous...

Come on spring!!
