Studio 54 at Studio 538

Malene Grotrian did it again!

This wonderful evening of beautiful clothes was put on by Luvngrace Entertainment at Studio 538 in downtown Vancouver. In addition to the fashion show, there was a Studio 54 themed party, which included walls lined with the pop art of Jim Cummings!

Model Behaviour

I had a pretty fun night on Wednesday and was able to document most of it...

The celebration was for JK Model's one year anniversary...drinks, fashion and photos with some wonderful Vancouverites. Photographic evidence below...

Sunshine Girl

(no, not the girls from the Toronto Sun).

My photos of Rachel's chocolate dress made it into the Vancouver Sun this past Saturday!

I'm still working on getting a PDF of the paper itself...but you can check out the photos that they posted online here and read the article here.

Ice Water Fashion Show

Spectacular designer Malene Grotrian put together a fabulous show for the launch of her Fall/Holiday collection.

I hung out backstage for the most part, photographing and helping with the chocolate dress creation, but a few times I snuck off to play stylist with the shoes and snap some candid shots.

The show was at the gorgeous District 319, Malene's designs walked the runway to the tune of violinist Rosemary Siemans, AND the night started off with Cocoa Nymph's chocolate dress (see earlier post).

You can see the entire set here on my Flickr page (yes, I have that too now)...and here are some shots from backstage, as well as some incredible pieces on the runway:

Malene Grotrian and the Chocolate Dress

That sort of sounds like a fairy tale...and it kind of is. A chocolate dress, designed and built by one of the most talented people I know, Rachel Sawatzky of Cocoa Nymph.

Rachel was asked to participate in the show, but instead of just putting chocolate in the gift bag, she created a chocolate dress based off some of designer Malene Grotrian designs!

To see the entire set, go to Cocoa Nymph's facebook page, but below are some photos of the chocolate dress being created and the finished project. Check back shortly (or look above) for a post of the rest of the fashion show!:
